PROJECT 2 REFLECTION
For this project, I originally had the idea of messing with watercolors, but thought that taking a few steps back and working with colored pencils would help my painting technique. I got my inspiration from Georgia O'keefe, and thought that doing the opposite of her bright and vivid colors, would give a different look into that style. I decided to use a black matte board, and color pencils for my medium. I worked mainly with a white crayola pencil, then added the finishing touches with a more advanced colored pencil. I really enjoyed working with proportions on the deer skull, and really liked focusing on light sources. The shading gave me a challenge, but I am truly proud of my final piece. I'm sure some may think that more detail in the shading would be beneficial, but I purposely left some places more vivid, to show my own sense of style.
